Facelift
(Rhytidectomy)
The
face is the most prominent feature of the human body
and ageing is often most visible on the face of individuals.
A facelift, (rhytidectomy) procedure is performed under
a general anaesthetic and can remove excess skin from
the neck, chin and cheek areas as well as tighten the
skin. The procedure usually takes about 3-hours and
is usually followed by an overnight stay in hospital.
The aim of a facelift procedure is to remove wrinkles
and rejuvenate a person’s appearance.
An
individual will have their own specific reasons for
wanting to undergo this procedure.
Looseness of the skin and muscle in the midface resulting
in wrinkles and folds on the face.
Wrinkles and creases below the eyelids, nose and mouth.
A wrinkled and sagging jaw line.
Loss of muscle tone and looseness of skin below the
chin and across the neck.
