Nose
Reshaping (Rhinoplasty)
Rhinoplasty,
more commonly known as nose reshaping surgery, is a
popular and common cosmetic surgery procedure within
the UK. Nose reshaping not only alters the shape, proportion
and contour of the nose but can change the overall appearance
of the whole face – the nose is after all the
foundation upon which the other facial features are
bridged. The specialist cosmetic surgeon can evaluate
the contour of your nose and face and discuss in detail
your personal-appearance expectations.
A rhinoplasty procedure is performed under a general
anaesthetic and usually takes about 2-hours, followed
by an overnight stay in hospital. The scars are usually
internal and therefore not visible.
An
individual will have their own specific reasons for
wanting to undergo this procedure:
A person’s nose may be disproportionate to the
shape, size and contour of their face.
A person may feel very self-conscious about the size,
shape or angle of their nose and wish to have this altered.
A person may have suffered a broken nose and rhinoplasty
is an opportunity to change the shape, size, angle and
contour of the nose.
